The Lufft WS800-UMB sets a new standard for industrial weather monitoring. As part of the renowned WS series from German Lufft, this is the instrument for operations where precision is not negotiable. The sensor measures temperature, humidity, air pressure, wind direction, wind speed, precipitation (intensity and type), solar radiation and lightning activity – all in one compact unit.

What sets the WS800 apart is its integrated radar precipitation technology and built-in lightning warning system. The sensor has no moving parts, which minimizes the need for service and calibration, making it ideal for placement in hard-to-reach locations such as masts, bridges or within energy infrastructure. For system integrators, it offers open communication protocols (UMB, Modbus, SDI-12) that enable seamless integration into existing SCADA systems or cloud platforms.

Installation & Commissioning

The WS800 is quickly mounted on a 50mm pipe mount. As the unit combines 13 sensors in one, only one cable is required, drastically reducing the cost of installation and cabling compared to traditional weather stations. Stormex delivers the unit pre-configured for your desired protocol (e.g. Modbus for building automation).
